GPTech APIS inverters for a 35 MW PV plant in Honduras

Seville, April 27, 2015. GPTech, a global expert in grid integration solutions, will provide its inverter stations to Marcovia Fase I, after succeeding an agreement with Grupo Ortiz, which is in charge of the facility construction and maintenance.

This new installation will reach 42,38 MWp under optimal operating conditions, avoiding  approximately 40.000 Tm of CO2 per year.

In order to achieve these goals, the company will develop 24 GPTech APIS solutions. Each APIS (Advanced Power Integrated Station) consists of 40-foot container including necessary power conversion equipment (PV-WD inverters) and MV transformers among other elements.

GPTech technology will allow the conversion and adaptation of the electric signal coming from the PV panels to the power distribution grid under high demand conditions, covering the most complex and delicate stage of the power generation process. 

Javier Landero, GPTech CCO, has declared: “Honduras is one of the most implied countries in developing renewable energy facilities. This reference project reinforces our leadership role as integration solutions provider for Central America.”

Exactly, 23 APIS1700 solutions will be provided, including 2x GPTech PV750WD inverters and 1x 1700 kVA transformer, as well as 1 APIS630 (1x PV500WD inverter and 1x 630 kVA transformer).

GPTech was already awarded by Grupo Ortiz to provide its conversion technology for the Horus I and II power plant (80 MW). The first phase has been inaugurated by the President of Guatemala Otto Perez Molina in early February 2015.
