GPTech, sponsor of the first smart city in Brazil

GPTech participates as sponsor in the construction of the first smart city of Latin American, placed in Búzios (Brazil).

Smart City Malaga

Additionally, it carries out the design of five elements: smart power converters; a management software that controls the energy generation and management, among other parameters; an energy storage system through batteries and super capacitors, with reactive power support capacity; and a lighting system lamps based on both wind and photovoltaic micro generations. These technologies will be integrated on the GPtech SmartCom solution, aiming at large consumers, as industries and big office buildings, for the management of PV and wind energy and the maxim exploitation of its consume.

The GPTech SmartCom solution is based in three main aspects. First, the Smart Network Devices, consisting of the recently developed iSocket and iNode devices. These devices aim to increase energy efficiency, while they allow to adapt the energy generation to the demand curve. They also establish an instantaneous value of feeding operation for net balance scenarios. Second, the GPTech SmartStorage, with the objective to increase the renewable energy availability by injection control or absorption of active power from the building's microgrid. And finally, the SmartCom solution incorporates a promoter of the installation, named GTECH SmartPowerManagement, which makes both scenarios of operation possible: self-consumption and net balance. This promoter helps to integrate all devices, including management, control and communication's platform, in order to allow the consumer to participate in real time in the energy saving process.

Cidade Inteligente Búzios is the thirst smart city project in which GPTech participates after Barcelona and Malaga projects. In the Smartcity Malaga, the company developed a similar solution to Búzios managing the energy generated by GPtech Turn's streetlights, as well as the consume of the charging stations for electric vehicles and spotlights placed at Malaga's promenade.
